Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone has a great time this weekend.  I am sure I will see tons of Lady Gaga’s, Jersey Shores peeps, fairies, school girls, and pocahontas.  What will you be?

Going on date night with the hubby tonight! Can’t wait!!!  And then tomorrow night going to a Halloween Party.  Can’t wait to show you all pics of my costume.  I hope it turns out as good as I imagined it.  We’ll just have to see.  And let’s hope I get some good pictures.

BON Green Dress Run 2010

I love running for a cause.

The participants of this event will help support Girls on the Run Greater Houston.  This program is a life-changing, experiential learning program for girls aged eight through fourteen.  Creative and uplifting workouts are combined with self-esteem building lessons to encourage girls to develop positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical resources to reduce at-risk behaviors.

good times! can’t wait for my next fun run.  although i did miss one last night. 

update: my injuries are from previous extreme sports activities. i suppose jumping wakes at my age on a wakeboard is out of the question now.  i have 2 strained muscles in my neck and shoulders. i have to go through 2 weeks of physical therapy.  i am not young anymore… this is what i get for thinking that i am still resilient.  it hurts when i'm at work but not when i out running or anything. maybe i'm allergic to work? lol

Houston Fashion Week 2010

without a DSLR, here’s a few photos…

houston’s very first fashion week.  i think it went quite well.  good job houston!

chloe’s S/S 2011 line was vibrant and refreshing.  i did love the cute rompers and dresses.

toni whitaker had great dresses that i would totally wear to a special event. 

irina shabayeva, did a great job on all the flirty types of dresses. i def loved lots of her pieces

 

kiton, men’s line. good looking men w/o shirts.  nuff’ said.  and the clothes was very Mad Men-ish. loves it.

marc bower, edgy. lovesss. hair and makeup was vampy, and i likes.

met chloe dao. she is uber petite!

my sis and i on the ‘red carpet’.  didn’t wear anything tooo flashy.  so i wore a blue suede skirt and a simple blouse with my jessica simpson dany plats.

so thats the highlights of one of the shows i went to.  the other show was put together by another group and it was outdoors.  my photos were all crap.

Another Easy DIY

I wanted to make an easy and cute change to my purse (I have had this purse for over a decade now.  Bought it from the GAP back in the late 90s). 

I pulled out some beads, leather scraps, and feathers.

This is a belt that came with some jean shorts, taking it apart to use some of the beads

 

They sell suede remnants at Hobby Lobby.  I have used this for other projects.  Its super inexpensive.  I think for a bag it was $2.99

Got a package of feathers from Hobby Lobby awhile back and I think it was like $4.99

cut a strip of the suede, I cut about 12 inches

grab a few feathers and lay it right at the tip of the suede strip and wrap thread around it, maybe 20 times or until you think the feather is sturdy onto the suede

Add the beads.  Make sure the beads have big holes so you can string them through the strip of suede.  I added 6 beads.

And then another set of feathers was wrapped around the leather and another set of 6 beads

Tie the end so that the beads don’t fall out

And then I tied it around the strap of my purse

Halloween Decor 2010

So every year I try to add small additions to my Halloween decor.  I haven’t had too much time to put much thought in it all but here’s what I have so far.  I <3 Halloween!!!

So what’s everyone doing this weekend?

Tomorrow I will be doing a fun run called the Brian O’Neils Green Dress Run

I’m going to wear a green fairy petal skirt, green top and green fairy wings.  Everyone has to wear a green dress.  However, I am aware my outfit isn’t a dress but I think they will me slide.  I want to win the best dressed contest!  My guy friend is going wear a beer maids costume.  I think he will definitely win.
